Brix Restaurant Wedding | Alissa + Bryan

When I found out that Alissa + Bryan were having a Phantom of the Opera themed wedding, I nearly fell off my chair – What would a Phantom of the Opera wedding look like? As it turns out, it looked super cool. The day started mellow. Both Alissa and Bryan looked calm and everything appeared normal except the groomsmen were wearing hot pink shirts and everything at the wedding was either hot pink, red, or black. When there ceremony began, Alissa marched down the aisle at Brix Restaurant to the Phantom of the Opera (it was very emotional). Later that evening, Bryan’s best man flashed a Phantom mask and I knew from then on, there was going to be some serious partying yet to happen. The wedding was vivid and beautiful with lots of funky colors and a truly unique feel to the day. It was such a memorable wedding for a very memorable couple. Cecil Green Park House Wedding | Stephanie + Jan

Stephanie + Jan held their stylish mid-summer wedding at Cecil Green Park House at UBC in Vancouver. The day began with Stephanie getting ready at a hotel just steps away from where Stephanie and Jan first met. We coordinated a “first look” session with them along a long corridor of trees at the Burnaby Public Library.The ceremony was held in the evening and guests were treated to amazing live music and a beautifully decorated reception venue that was set up for a stand-up/lounge-like reception. Both the wedding cake and groom’s cake were made by family. The wedding cake was made by Stephanie’s sister and the grooms cake were made by Jan’s parents. Heart-felt speeches, dancing, and music followed throughout the evening and it was simply one of the most relaxed and stylish weddings I’ve been to in some time.

The “first look” happened where Stephanie and Jan met. Along this row of trees, Stephanie gracefully approached Jan to see him for the first time on the day of the wedding.

The beautifully elegant wedding venue decorations at Cecil Green were done by Sweet Beginnings Wedding Consulting and Event Planning.

Stephanie and Jan also had their own chocolates with custom monogrammed wrappers and the beautiful six-tier wedding cake was made by Stephanie’s sister. Simply amazing.

A true groom’s cake is something that represents the groom. This cake sure does it. It was made by Jan’s mom and each ornament represents some aspect of Jan’s childhood.

Live motown and blues music for the wedding festivities was provided by Checo Tohomaso, music director from the Vancouver VOC Soul Gospel Choir.

Grouse Mountain Wedding | Laura + Steve

Laura + Steve celebrated their wedding day at Grouse Mountain in North Vancouver. The day started with Laura getting ready at Thistle Down House, just a short drive to the Grouse Mountain skyride. They held the ceremony just outside the Timber room and although the deck was small, it was more than sufficient for their many guests that showed up to take part in their wedding. The Timber room was a intimate reception venue with a mountain lodge feel. My favorite part of the wedding was the reception, with a few emotional speeches and just about everyone joining in the dance festivities at one point or another.

Croatian Cultural Centre Wedding | Sarah + Marin

This was one of the more emotional weddings I’ve attended in recent memory. Sarah’s dad showed such courage and strength attending her wedding despite his frail condition, but despite all this, the wedding was a joyous occasion with many tears of happiness flowing over the celebration of their special day. I can’t say enough about how much respect I have for Sarah and Marin. Marin stood by Sarah through her fight over cancer and now the big day had finally arrived. One of my favorite photos is the one of pure joy on Sarah’s face at the alter.

Sarah sees her dad in front of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish just before the ceremony.

Wedding planning and decor for the Croatian Cultural Centre was provided by Tanya Peters and her awesome team from Milestone Events.

The wedding party has a little fun before the reception starts at the Croatian Cultural Centre in Vancouver.

UBC Golf Club Wedding | Sneak Peek: Margaret + Derek

Amazing how calm Margaret looks considering there were golfers ready to tee off just a few meters away. Derek and Margaret looked beautiful on their wedding day and there were some good chuckles during the speeches, which I loved.
