Who says it rains all the time in Vancouver. Apparently not this past autumn. We had some amazing Indian summer days in late October and Jen and Pat took full advantage of one beautiful afternoon, where we hung out and took these photographs. Jen and Pat are having a destination wedding next year, so they’re going to have plenty of sunny photos to look back on in the years to come. Jen and Pat created a ton of awesome photos and I just don’t know where to begin to show them all. This is just volume one, and there’s more to come.

This set is part one of portraits-2/”>Samantha and Simon’s wedding. They held their ceremony at the Celebration Pavilion at Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver and after taking photos of friends and family, we did a photo session at a nearby elementary school where Samantha once worked as a teacher. Their reception was held at Dragon View Restaurant in Richmond, and there will be more photos to come.

Lindsay and Jason are two television producers who tied the knot at an intimate wedding celebration this past summer at Stanley Park in downtown Vancouver. The afternoon began with both of them getting ready at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel, located just minutes from Stanley Park. We were in complete awe at Lindsay’s massive hotel suite at the Fairmont, the spectacular views of the north shore mountains just outside her window, and of course, how beautiful she looked that day. Jason got ready just down the hall; showing off some retro styling with his classic black bow tie tuxedo, suspenders, and vintage watch. We later met up at Stanley Park Pavilion for a first look, before riding the limousine around the park for photos. Their wedding ceremony happened in the early evening on the main lawn of the Stanley Park Pavilion. It was a short and intimate ceremony that led to photos with friends and family in attendance and then to a beautiful dinner reception the Teahouse in Stanley Park just steps away from Third Beach.

Diem and Joe celebrated their wedding day in early September at the Terminal City Club. Upon our arrival at the Club, Jani and I were blown away by the classy and opulent decor that Diem and Joe chose for their reception space. We started the day in the President’s room following Erica from White Dahlia Wedding & Events around as she magically transformed the room into a thing of elegance. The striped-black chair and table decor and shiny candelabras that Erica arranged through Absolute Events & Rentals and All Occasions Chic Decor Rentals made the space shine. These objects of old-world opulence, accentuated by touches of red, purple, and fuchsia floral centerpieces, were a feast for the eyes. Diem and Joe chose to do a first look on the patio before we headed off along the West Hastings area for photos with their wedding party. Diem looked amazing with her vintage feather and lace, along with the amazing makeup and hair, and of course her birdcage veil (gotta be my favorite kind of veil). Joe was sporting a black tux and sneakers, which added that little touch of personality to his look. Officiated by Rev. Brent Sheppard, the wedding ceremony on the patio was perfect that evening; the weather and lighting were ideal, as the soothing modern renditions from the string  trio carried in the wedding party for a intimate outdoor ceremony against a downtown Vancouver backdrop. The dinner reception hosted by the Terminal City Club staff was fabulous as usual, and we particularly loved the heart-felt speeches that even brought a tear to Joe’s eyes on an occasion or two. The evening continued with dancing, a photobooth, and further celebrations well into the night. Congratulations Diem and Joe on a beautiful wedding!

Jen and Pat are getting married next year in Maui, but wanted to have a set of engagement photos done right here is sunny (ahem..) Vancouver. We had been planning this session for quite some time, but weather simply didn’t want to cooperate, so at one point, I think we resigned to scheduling something for next Spring. Then, as if our prayers were answered, a whole week of sun! So there we are, out in the middle of nowhere taking photos with the warm sun over their shoulders and I’m looking at the photos we’re taking and I think, wow…Jen and Pat are amazing and this feels like Spring – this is going to be fun. And it was exactly that, a beautiful sunny Spring-like Autumn day with Jen and Pat and their cool vintage blue bicycle, and their photos are looking so rad, I think they’re going to have a hard time choosing a favorite (I hope!). Jen and Pat brought two looks for the session and makeup and hair was provided by the ever talented Jayna Marie. This is just volume 1, can’t wait to finish up more photos to post.

What a sexy squire! I think she loves the colour of that bike more than that Pat guy. He’s not even riding the bike properly, looks like he is trying to pilot a plane or something.

Awesomely amazing lovely light. The first two images particularly are just beautiful.

These are great! I love the light in the first few, and the ones with the bike are just adorable. Fantastic idea!

They are super cute. If I were Jen, I would have kicked Pat off that bike. Sweet images!

what magazine shoot did you steal these two from?! GORGEOUS.

wow, these are precious and I love that bike!

Omg I want that bike! These are just adorable.

the color and light in these are to-die-for! What an adorable couple!

Wow! Loved your editing!

Lauren

Love that bike, cute couple too!! gorgeous!
