When Susan and Janko first contacted me about their Vancouver Club wedding, I was especially elated because Susan just happens to be the sister of a talented Vancouver wedding photographer. Anytime I get a referral from another photographer, it’s always flattering and much appreciated, but even more so when it’s a referral from a photographer for a family member.
When the wedding day arrived, Susan and Janko stayed at the Terminal City Club Hotel just next door, where Alexa and I arrived in the afternoon for getting ready photos. It was a little dismaying that the weather looked like a typical early spring in Vancouver. Fortunately for us, most of the rain held off just long enough for us to get a few photos around the West Hastings area.
The Vancouver Club is a great wedding venue because it offers a number of interesting indoor locations for photography, so that is exactly what we did. One of my favourite parts of the day was the evening reception. It was relaxed and there was plenty of time for the bride and groom to visit with wedding guests at their tables.
Susan and Janko chose a beautiful pink color theme for their decor and the wedding cake was definitely an eye catcher in the centre of the room. They looked beautiful together for their first dance and it wasn’t long after that the dance floor began to fill with friends and family.
