Michelle + James’ Dockside Restaurant wedding in Granville Island happened on an early summer day that was supposed to be rainy, but turned out to be beautiful.
Michelle started her day at the Granville Island Hotel with her bridesmaids.
As always, the staff at Celebration Pavilion in Queen Elizabeth Park hosted a beautiful wedding ceremony that lasted about thirty minutes, followed by an exciting bubble-filled ceremony recessional.
We then spent some time in the park with their family and wedding party taking photos in a quiet area of an otherwise busy urban park. Following a photo session in the park, we then travelled back to Dockside Restaurant at Granville Island for their wedding reception.
Dockside Restaurant is located inside the Granville Island Hotel on the south-east corner of Granville Island in Vancouver. It’s one of the top restaurants on the Island and offers gorgeous views of downtown Vancouver and False Creek. It’s an intimate restaurant with good food and drink that will satisfy any fan of locally brewed beer. Many of their guests arrived early and enjoyed beers and canapés on the patio overlooking False Creek. The wedding had a relaxed West Coast urban vibe that was quintessential Vancouver in the summer.
We loved how M+J decorated their reception at Dockside. They chose gold wine bottles as centerpieces, which really complimented their wedding colours and the warm decor of Dockside Restaurant. It was simple, but beautiful, natural, and classy. We also loved their wedding cake, and so did their guests – a few of which sneaked a few nibbles of the cupcakes before desserts.
Congratulations again on a wonderful wedding day this past summer. We had a great day with them and their wedding guests, and are still so thankful for the dry sunny weather that helped the photos highlight the beauty of their big day.

The green background adds elegant in every photos. That’s amazing!
Love the tone and color scheme of this wedding. So light and airy! Beautiful!
