Remembering Spring is one of those things you do in the middle of summer when the mid-day heat is unbearable. I think back to weddings like Shawna + Howard’s wedding day at Vancouver Unitarian Church and their Shiang Garden wedding reception in Richmond. It was an overcast day and the weather had the typical coolness of a Spring day on the West Coast. It was pleasant for the groomsmen in their chic tuxedos, and the gentle breeze offered beautiful photos of the bride and her bridesmaids’ dresses. We started the day at a park along the Fraser River in Vancouver. As Spring days go, it was quiet and we had the park mostly to ourselves – save the one older fellow we saw moving massive beach logs on his own shoulder. Not kidding. I loved the look of the bridesmaids’ dresses, and the gentleman’s tuxedos were as classy as it gets. Shawna’s amazing vintage dress was the highlight of the wedding. The details in that dress were jaw dropping. The dress was the perfect choice for her and we took every advantage to take photos of the details. I often get inspired by the movies and television shows I watch, so I couldn’t help but to be inspired by Downton Abbey creating with is photo with the wedding party. Here is the original Downton Abbey photo inspiration. The Vancouver Unitarian Church was very accommodating and the ceremony went perfectly. We loved the decor and lighting in the sanctuary. Shiang Garden in Richmond is one of the more popular Chinese reception venues in Metro Vancouver. Guests love the authentic Chinese food menu and it’s become a tradition for many Chinese families to complete their big day with a Shiang Garden wedding reception. Congratulations again Shawna and Howard! Thanks for inviting us to be a part of your wedding day.
