Westwood Plateau Wedding

Lisa + Nathan were married in the early Spring. As most early Spring days go in Metro Vancouver, you normally expect rain – but not on Lisa and Nathan’s special day. Clouds parted as strong winds opened up the sky to tease us with hints of blue. The winds reminded us of their engagement session last year when we spent time at the beach and strong winds made Lisa’s hair fly. But the winds this day would be a blessing that gave us just enough time to take photos on Burnaby Mountain before attending their reception at the beautiful Westwood Plateau Golf & Country Club in Coquitlam. Their ceremony was a Catholic celebration at Holy Cross church, a beautifully spirtual and tranquil setting for their marriage vows. I felt a strong sense of family during the ceremony; the sense of a strong bond between family members,  a lovingness that filled the sanctuary. The speeches that evening were fun and touching all at once. I kept looking over to Nathan, waiting for reaction, but he held back, as most guys do. But what he couldn’t hold back was the overwhelming elation that he had finally married his one true love, and that he couldn’t hide from the camera. My favorite photos of the day were actually the ones at the beginning. It was a tranquil morning at Lisa’s parent’s home, and the calmness of everything set the tone for the day. Jayna-Marie did a wonderful job with makeup and my friend Celicia (CC) Roa came through again with beautiful floral creations – after all, Lisa did tell me that she loves flowers, and Cecilia delivered. Thank you for the beautiful wedding Lisa and Nathan! Congratulations again.
