Linnie and Nico just moved to Vancouver and now have the distinction of being our first wedding of 2012. Beginning their life together in a new city, they decided to have a New Years’ Day wedding in the most iconic of places, Stanley Park. Their day began with Linnie having her hair and make-up done by the talented Ai Nagasawa, then getting ready at the Westin Bayshore Hotel in a room that offered spectacular views of the the inlet as Linnie put on her white sari dress. Linnie and Nico traveled separately to the Brockton Point Lighthouse in a vintage white Rolls Royce. The weather report had indicated rainy skies all week and we had pretty much expected that was what we were going to get. But Linnie, being the eternal optimist, predicted sun, and that’s exactly what we got. Just as Linnie and Nico finished their vows, the sun appeared through the thinning clouds: it was magical.
After the ceremony, Linnie and Nico held their first dance at Brockton Point and sent photos of the wedding to their families in Berlin, Germany, where they had their own virtual wedding in honor of Linnie and Nico. There were several emotional moments during the wedding, but one of the most memorable was when Linnie read a letter from Nico’s parents welcoming her into their family. We spent the rest of the afternoon taking photos in Stanley Park before retreating to the Tea House in Stanley Park for their lunch reception. The wedding was small and intimate, but everything turned out as perfectly. Videography was provided by Geoff and Naomi from Weddings in Motion Below are just a handful of photographs from their New Years’ Day wedding.

Lieber Nicolas,
