Outdoor Venues for Weddings
Brock House
Brock House Restaurant is located at Point Grey in Vancouver’s west side. It is adjacent Jericho Beach and is well known for it’s outdoor wedding ceremonies and receptions. If you love the beach and the views of the city from a distance, Brock House is one of the top outdoor venues for weddings in Metro Vancouver. For wedding photos, you are just a few steps away from the beach and pier. There are also wooded areas around Jericho that would make for a beautiful backdrop for your photos.
Hycroft Manor
Hycroft Manor is located in the South Granville neighbourhood of Old Shaughnessy in Vancouver. It is a beautiful 30-room family mansion built in 1907 by Alexander Duncan McRae. It is now owned by the University Women’s Club and hosts hundred of weddings and private events each year.
What draws many people to Hycroft Manor is it’s partially covered outdoor terrace, where wedding ceremonies and some wedding receptions are hosted. There is also an indoor dining room and lower level ballroom as well.
Hycroft offers a view of downtown Vancouver, but is also surrounded by the gardens that offer privacy despite being in the middle of the city. You also have the option to have your wedding ceremony in the garden.
Cecil Green Park
Cecil Green Park House is located on the UBC endowment lands. It was commissioned in 1912 by Edward Pease Davis, but later purchased by Ida and Cecil Green in 1967 and donated to UBC. It is now a popular venue for private events.
It is a quiet and beautiful outdoor venue that can host weddings and other private events on it’s outdoor terrace as well as the garden lawn.
For wedding photos, there are a lot of nearby options. You may want to wander the UBC campus for photos or visit some of the surrounding wooded area. A short drive away is Spanish Banks, one of Vancouver’s biggest beaches.
Hart House at Deer Lake
Hart House is located in Burnaby’s Deer Lake Park. It is a 20 minute drive from Vancouver and hosts weddings under a large tent on its outdoor lawn facing the Lake. The main building is a Tudor-style house originally owned by Frederick Hart in 1906. It is now operated as a full service restaurant at Deer Lake.
Deer Lake is a large park and offers many locations for wedding photos. You can take photos along the trails, at outside the Shadbolt Centre, or museum, or even the boat rental launch.
Cammidge House
Cammidge House is located at Boundary Bay Park in Delta. It was built in 1914 by Edwin Cammidge, who was a successful farmer. It now hosts many outdoor events, especially outdoor weddings, which are usually held under a large tent on it’s lawn. Rental rates for Cammidge house are very budget-friendly and the outdoor venue can host a lot of people.
The beach is just a short stroll away and offers beautiful views and locations for wedding photography.
